Why Do Entrepreneurs Like Training
If you ever want to see a bunch of entrepreneurs in action, visit one of the entrepreneurial training "accelerators" popping up all over the place.
What is it about these training that appeal to entrepreneurs?
I don't know but I ran into lots of entrepreneurs at the Daymond John's Success Formula training info session this weekend in St. Petersburg Florida.
You should see the hunger for knowledge from this would be and seasoned entrepreneurs.
The training info session was well put together.
You know how it is when you are just experiencing something for the first time.
Some of these entrepreneurs were just there to check it out.
Others were there to get motivated to move their ideas and themselves to the next level. One entrepreneur told me with the training they will be in a position to get mentored so they could reach their potential audience and customers. When I asked how many leads do you currently have? the answer I got was none.
When I asked how many emails have you sent? the answer I got was none. When I asked what's you sales? the answer I got was zero!!!
Say it ain't so!!!
Yet this entrepreneur is willing to pay money to get the knowledge to take them to "the next level?"

Have you heard people talk, talk talk but take no action?
How does it feel to be on the receiving end of all that talk?
Entrepreneurs on the other hand like to take action, then talk later.
Which style is right depends on your audience.
Obviously, if you need to do a lot of convincing to gain buy-in, your best bet is to
"socialize" the topic and desired outcome.
Suggest, recommend and "think our loud" the objective, taking note of key
objections, concerns and feedback. What good does it do to talk, talk, talk?

On the contrary, talking is natural. So, it makes sense to listen to people talk.
It's when you don't hear anything that you should be concerned.
Talking is especially important when it comes to team dynamics. Some team members

Talk is cheap but action is expensive.
Next time you are in a room, observe who is doing most of the talking and who is
taking note. At the end, ask questions of the note taker. You would be amazed at what
you'll discover.

Becoming The Entrepreneur You Were Meant To Be
It's not as sexy as they make it to be: Entrepreneur! What if I told you it is, would that change your mind in wanting to become an Entrepreneurs? Some people say entrepreneurs are born not made. While there is truth to some of that, some entrepreneurs did not actually achieve their fame until later in life. So is there a secret sauce to becoming an entrepreneur? I don't know. However, I know it takes a lot of discipline to become good at something. Here are a few tips I learned on my way to becoming an entrepreneur:
First, be yourself.
Don't try to be like the famous entrepreneurs you see talked about everywhere. I won't mention their names so you can focus on being you.
Second, trust your instincts.
Do you ever have that tingling feeling sometime that makes you feel you've just discovered a better mouse trap? Perhaps you have. But you just brushed it off. Take an inventory of ideas and table them for later.
Third, be hungry.
Have you noticed entrepreneurs all share a common trait? They are all restless and always looking to outdo themselves. Think about it. That's what keeps them hungry. You too can be a hungry entrepreneur. Just don't hold a sign on the street corner. lol.
Finally, listen to your critics.
We all have them. Critics, haters or strategic advisors. Listen to them. They have seen some people fall and fumble. So, don't brush off criticism, even if they are not constructive. Give them a head nod and take note.

Hack #44 - What Climate Issues Are You Most Concerned With?
Just the thought of climate issues makes me tense a little. I know I'm not the only one. What if we already have innovative solutions to our climate problems? Would you be interested in learning about some of the novel solutions? Well, we've got the perfect mix of science, agriculture and innovation with our inaugural podcast episode. First, let me begin by thanking you for listening to SAPCO2 podcast. I'd like to begin by stating this is not an attempt to solicit funding of any kind. Second, as we delve into the subject matter of climate change, I know there are various solutions currently competing for recognition. I think that's a good thing. From Elon Musk to Bill Gates, Entrepreneurs are using their ingenuity to tackle todays biggest challenges. So, is our podcast pioneer. Let me introduce our main guest on this podcast episode.
Wilson Hago (on right)
Wilson Hago started worrying about climate issues working for a company in California called Cool Planet Energy Systems located about an hour north of Los Angeles. This company amazingly was worried about the existential risks associated with continued consumption of gasoline products and its effect on planetary temperature. Being backed by venture capital, it collected investments exceeding $150M in its efforts. Wilson learned a lot working for the company and was employee number twenty-two - #22. An important lesson learned was the idea of carbon negativity, where carbon is extracted from the atmosphere via photosynthesis and converted to a long-term storage material.
The advantage of this process is that it gives Hago Energetics a chance at solving a major global problem with the free market, and help rebuild the soil in the process.
Fast forward to present day, Wilson
is now running a company called Hago Energetics. At Hago Energetics, the idea
of carbon negativity is being extended and applied to carbon dioxide emissions
from power plants. The basic idea is to take these emissions and, using
renewable energy such as solar panels, wind and biomass, and to convert these
emissions to liquid fuels and carbon that will be stored in the soil in
perpetuity. The advantage of this process is that it gives Hago
Energetics a chance at solving a major global problem with the free market, and
help rebuild the soil in the process.
The storage carbon is a soil
amendment which can help plants grow faster. In conversations Wilson had
with famers in California, while listening to their concerns, he stated to SAPCO2 podcast
that

know that this product can help these farmers and pretty much all farmers in
the world."

Hago Energetics' approach has been vetted by industry professionals. Indeed, the company placed as semi-finalists in the Carbon XPRIZE, a worldwide challenge aiming to find good uses to carbon dioxide. Hago Energetics is prototyping a machine that performs this conversion. In that regard, they are looking at tapping the public markets to help them build this machine. In future podcasts, we will describe the technological approach in more detail. We will also take a broader look at the problem of carbon dioxide conversion and utilization.

Taking Action Without Complete Information - Hack #41
Are you a procrastinator or are you an action oriented individual? Some people want to take action but don't know how. It's not a problem. The problems comes when that problem keeps stirring you in the face asking you: what are you going to do? Your answer probably goes something like this: "Let me think about it," or "I will get to it next week," "I am out of town," and the list goes on, on and on. I have analyzed successful people and the one common thread I notice is they all know how to TAKE ACTION WITHOUT COMPLETE INFORMATION
That what sets them apart and keeps them at the top of the food chain Yes, getting more information about something is great, but by the time you get all the information, the opportunity may have already disappeared. This happens alot in certain highly regulated industries like Financial Services. On the contrary, complete information is always worth its weight in gold. For instance, gathering market intelligence with which to launch a new strategy or enter an unproven territory. In the final analysis, it's not when you make the decision but actually taking action. Did you know that for 90 percent of the decisions we make everyday, we don't need complete information? It boils down to making the decision or not making the decision. Of course, one caveat is if you need to get approval or permission to take action.
Nevertheless, I will submit that you don't need complete information to TAKE ACTION. TAKE ACTION THIS NEW MONTH AND LET'S CIRCLE BACK IN 30 DAYS AND YOU WILL BE SUPRISED AT WHAT YOU'VE ACCOMPLISHED.

I have analyzed successful people and the one common thread I notice is they all know how to TAKE ACTION WITHOUT COMPLETE INFORMATION
That what sets them apart and keeps them at the top of the food chain Yes, getting more information about something is great, but by the time you get all the information, the opportunity may have already disappeared. This happens alot in certain highly regulated industries like Financial Services. On the contrary, complete information is always worth its weight in gold. For instance, gathering market intelligence with which to launch a new strategy or enter an unproven territory. In the final analysis, it's not when you make the decision but actually taking action. Did you know that for 90 percent of the decisions we make everyday, we don't need complete information? It boils down to making the decision or not making the decision. Of course, one caveat is if you need to get approval or permission to take action.
Nevertheless, I will submit that you don't need complete information to TAKE ACTION. TAKE ACTION THIS NEW MONTH AND LET'S CIRCLE BACK IN 30 DAYS AND YOU WILL BE SUPRISED AT WHAT YOU'VE ACCOMPLISHED.

According to Reuters, Google has been fined $2.7Billion dollars by the European Union (EU) for "anti-competitive" practices. Full story here
What does that say about the power Google has over global markets? The EU apparently had enough and levied a huge fine to let Google know who is "boss."
Do you think this fine is fair to Google? Is Google anti-competitive? What shopping markets did Google corner? According to people familiar with the case, this fine was as a result of a seven-year investigation. Further, the story continues, Google has 90 days to end the alleged anti-competitive practice or face additional fines.

The Department of Veterans Affairs Accountability and Whistleblower Protection Act of 2017 marks Trump's 40th law signed.
President Trump just signed legislation into law and said:
"What happened was a national disgrace and yet some of the employees involved in these scandals remained on the payrolls," Trump said just before signing the bill. "Outdated laws kept the government from holding those who failed our veterans accountable. Today we are finally changing those laws."
