Straight Up! Don't expect an easy transition from military to civilian. The same tenacity it took you to move up the ranks is what you have to apply to move up the corporate world. It doesn't hurt to get prepared at least eighteen months out. That's when you really want to knock out your certifications, like PMP, CDFM if you are in Financial Management, and any advanced degrees such as the MBA.
